Bijoy Misra

 

Bijoy Misra is a physicist, a teacher and a Sanskrit scholar.  He helps organize the SAPNE meetings.  He acted as the Convener of the Outreach Committee of the Department of Sanskrit and Indian Studies and initiated the India Poetry Reading at Harvard University in 1997.  He writes in Oriya, English and Hindi.  His two books on Vedanta , “Sri Krishna Yoga” and “Vedanta for the Common Man” with Swami Sarvagatananda of Ramakrishna Mission are published by Advaita Press in India.  He translated sections of Mahabharata written by the fifteenth century Oriya Poet Sarala Das. The text is compiled in the book “Krishna – A Sourcebook” published by the Oxford University Press.  A collection of his Oriya poems is being published under the title “bhavadhara.” He has taught in Harvard University and MIT.  He is active in research in sensors and technology and helps inner city schools in science education.
